Presenter:
Ruth Fleishman – Teacher – Deakin College

Active learning is where students are the doers and not just listeners. In this presentation, Ruth Fleishman takes you on a tour of her use of active learning principles and discusses her reasons for always teaching with a practical component that accompanies the theory.

In her classes, students experience first-hand the content they’re learning, and everyone benefits from this more lively and fun way to teach.

Ruth will share her use of digital and non-digital tools for engagement both in and outside of the classroom and will discuss the role of creativity and problem-solving through making prototypes.
