CISA conference 2016: Breaking down barriers

The Council of International Students Australia (CISA) Conference brings together government bodies, stakeholders and students with the shared aim of continuing to improve international education and the student experience in Australia. This year’s conference theme was ‘Breaking down barriers, facing the future together as one’ and focused on how international education in Australia can live up to its ideal – providing a quality educational experience while building connections amongst students, institutions, and communities around the world.

Representing Navitas at the conference were Anna McLeod and Kadi Taylor. In this recording, they’ll shared some of their key take-outs from the conference, including reflections on:

  • International students and employability;
  • Navitas’ role in the conference and workshops, and the perceptions of Navitas by CISA executive and conference delegates;
  • Supporting Navitas students to participate in CISA; and
  • Views on the evolution of CISA as an advocacy group – to date and going forward.

The recording will be of interest to anyone who works with international students at Navitas, particularly those involved in student services, career development and stakeholder engagement, who want to hear more from the institutions and individuals advocating on their behalf.
