Ann Wilson – Senior Academic Developer/ Navitas Learning & Teaching Services

Recently heard about a new app you’d like to try in your teaching? Perhaps you’re pondering some new ways to tackle a learning and teaching challenge? Come and join us for the first in a series of events looking at educational apps and tools, and explore how they can be aligned with a range of pedagogical approaches.

This regular, short sharing session is presented by a diverse range of educators sharing what they’ve learned through their own practice. Each session includes:

  • An overview of a particular teaching and learning challenge
  • Introduction to the app or tool
  • How it can be used in teaching
  • Q&A and discussion (if you’ve tried it yourself, come along and share your own experiences!)

Today’s tool: the Padagogy Wheel
With the Padagogy Wheel Model, teachers have a reference that ties educational apps to specific learning outcomes that is directly connected to modern pedagogies and theories. You can easily use the wheel during lesson planning to discover tools that will best aid your students or use it during class time to extend or deepen learning towards a specific 21st century skill or content area. Available in French, English, German, Spanish and many other languages, the Padagogy Wheel is easy to access and use.

In this presentation, Ann Wilson will be using the Padagogy Wheel to share and identify appropriate educational apps you might use to engage and motivate students.
