About this module
Designing a rubric that can effectively measure our students’ learning in the assessments we set for them can be a tricky and time-consuming process. There are many great examples out there, but most of these have to be adapted to suit our needs and context. This means we need to begin writing our own criteria and descriptors, but how do we do this if we’ve had little experience in this field? In this module we will discuss the pros and cons of rubrics, go over a handy 4-step guide to designing effective rubrics, compare different examples and, in the final assessment, create a rubric to evaluate a specific learning outcome in your teaching context.

Delivery
TEN modules are available on the L&T Moodle platform, and you will have continuous access to the module from when you start. There will be light-touch moderation, various opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction, as well as multiple assessment submission points throughout the year. This module requires approximately 3-5 hours to complete.
