About this module
How can we help our students become conscientious digital citizens; fostering safe, responsible and ethical digital practices? It has been reported that millennials are lacking in digital literacy skills across all contexts and particularly in the workplace. It is important that we understand the issues and know how to support our students in being, not only digitally savvy, but digitally responsible. This module will help you develop understanding of safe, reliable and ethical digital practices. You will have the opportunity to consider what digital citizenship looks like across national and institutional contexts before creating an infographic or digital poster communicating the guidelines and how they should be applied in your learning environment.
TEN modules are designed to support you with the delivery of high-quality student experiences, while building teaching capabilities, embracing learning and teaching challenges, and being responsive to changes in education. On successful completion of this module you will be able to:
|Knowledge||Consider personal, institutional and national practices that govern safe, responsible and ethical digital citizenship|
|Skills||Define the principles of digital citizenship, and offer examples of how safe, responsible and ethical digital practices inform your teaching practice|
|Application||Create an infographic to advise students on the safe, responsible and ethical use of digital technologies in your teaching context|
