Opening a door to teacher observation and CPD: an Omani story

How do you create a culture of continuous learning in a newly established college where teaching staff come from many different professional and cultural backgrounds? And how do you shift from a ‘tick-box’ teacher evaluation framework to a developmental approach which encourages all teachers to keep learning – not just those who don’t meet prescribed standards?

In this Q&A session recording, Kristin talks about some of the ideas and experiences she presented at the 2016 TESOL Arabia conference. She briefly outlines the evolution of a teacher development program using the Cambridge teaching competency framework to inform teaching practice and evaluation, concluding with some thoughts about where the program and teacher development can go from here.
